PHP Web Developer


The International Code Council is looking to add an experienced PHP developer who is passionate about building technologies to their fast-paced development team.  The candidate will be accountable for designing and maintaining web applications that revolutionize the way business gets done.


The ideal candidate is an organized, driven individual with a desire to continually discover and leverage the latest web technologies.  You will join an agile development team to design, develop and support multiple web applications.  You will follow established coding standards, investigate emerging technologies and suggest improvements. 




Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Develop and maintain websites and applications, comprised of both Intranet and Internet sites
  • Analyze, design and develop websites using PHP, JavaScript, and MySQL
  • Ensure compatibility with all major digital devices and browsers
  • Write clear, well-structured and tested code
  • Produce internal/external documentation of Web site information architecture and code
  • Analyze and resolve security issues with ICC applications and websites



  • Minimum 4+ years software development working on enterprise level applications.
  • Proficiency with Object Oriented Programming and Model-View-Controller implementations
  • Good understanding of relational databases, SQL, and database best practices
  • An attitude that means you're always looking to improve yourself, your code, and bring out the best in your team.


  • Experience in the language we use: PHP (5.6, 7.1), Javascript
  • Front-End experience in JQuery, Angular, Vue and React
  • Experience with Wordpress, specifically having written or contributed a custom module
  • Experience with Symfony
  • Experience with Magento Enterprise Storefront
  • Experience with our tools such as Git for version control, JIRA for project management
  • Experience with Composer, PHPUnit testing, API/Web services Integrations
  • Experience working on the command line and with the Linux/Shell
  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field or equivalent 4+ years of experience.



  • Good written and Oral communication skills.
  • Work onsite and able to work in the U.S.
